Life in Balance is a 42-week community-based chronic care initiative led by the Florida Economic Consortium, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. This program focuses on underserved adults in Central Florida (Orange, Seminole, Volusia, and Lake counties) who are managing diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol.

Early signs of Diabetes include frequent urination, increased thirst, fatigue, blurry vision, and slow-healing sores. Spot symptoms early for better health.
Through direct educational workshops and support services, participants gain practical knowledge and preventive strategies to reduce health complications and reliance on emergency care. The initiative’s ultimate goal is to improve long-term health outcomes while decreasing indigent care costs and preventing costly hospital visits or readmissions. Services are delivered both in-person and virtually, ensuring broader access and accommodating those with transportation or mobility barriers
By emphasizing prevention and self-management, Life in Balance aligns with broader public health goals to keep people healthier and reduce the burden of chronic diseases on the healthcare system.
