About the Florida Economic Consortium
A community-based organization dedicated to self-sufficiency, independence, and a better quality of life for youth and families.
Why We Exist
Who We Are
The Florida Economic Consortium, Inc. (FEC) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering youth and families through a range of direct, self-sufficiency social services, with the goal of enhancing their overall quality of life.
We believe self-sufficiency is built — through education, mentorship, healthy habits, financial knowledge, and consistent community support. That belief shapes everything we do, from tutoring a third grader in reading to helping an adult manage a chronic health condition.
Our Approach
- Direct services — we work hands-on with the youth and families we serve, not at a distance.
- Evidence-based programs — our services use proven instructional and prevention strategies.
- Community partnership — we extend our reach through a trusted network of local partner organizations.
- Whole-person focus — academics, health, character, finances, and career readiness together.
📍 Where We Work
FEC is headquartered in Altamonte Springs and serves communities across Central Florida, with concentrated services in Orange County — including the Concentrated Community Initiative (CCI) and Targeted Community Initiative (TCI) Sector 1 (ZIP Code 32703) and East Orange County.
