Rod Love, born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and raised in Miami, has dedicated his career to public service, entrepreneurship, and community advocacy. After earning a bachelor’s in criminal justice and business management from Youngstown State University, Rod launched his career in Orlando, moving from probation officer to a leadership role with the Metropolitan Orlando Urban League.

He has held key positions, including Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the State Department of Juvenile Justice, where he oversaw a $740 million budget and led over 5,000 personnel. Rod founded the Florida Economic Consortium to support community organizations with enhanced accountability tools and also operated a home healthcare agency serving the elderly for several years. In 2018, he became thefirst African American Commissioner for Orange County Board District 2, appointed by Governor Rick Scott, and has chaired numerous boards to foster safer communities.

Since 2017, Rod has co-hosted Let’s Talk Nation, a radio/podcast platform for discussing business, politics, and social issues. As a board member of the AdventHealth Foundation, he continues his commitment to community well-being, driven by his dedication to empowering individuals to reach their potential.
